About Us
The Final Word is a listener--supported ministry of pastor, Bible teacher and author Jim Andrews. It is anchored in the conviction that what the Bible teaches, God teaches, and that is the end of every argument. Our aim is to spread light and scatter darkness. In short, we want to do our part, as God enables, to help close the truth gap, which today even in our churches is getting wider and wider.
We have in our sights four categories of listeners:
Ø a truth-deprived and spiritually famished generation of believers who less than ever enjoy the benefit of substantive biblical teaching;
Ø the spiritually misinformed and mis-taught who, though exposed to a veritable stream of unsound teachings, remain open to better light;
Ø the spiritually mature who always welcome another healthful supplement to their spiritual diet;
Ø non-believers who occasionally ‘eavesdrop’ from a ‘safe’ distance, including those whom believing friends may direct to the program for arms length spiritual help.

1 John was written to 1st century believers in Asia Minor to guard themselves against a pernicious heresy that today we know as incipient or pre-gnosticism, a cluster of teachings that took sin lightly, believed in salvation by 'enlightenment' via secret rites, and was socially elitist, etc. To expose them and to give believers some benchmarks by which to test themselves John provides some tests of authenticity.
